Nelson Asaytono is one of the best players to never win a PBA MVP. He did come close twice, though. The first was in 1992 when he became the main man of Swift Mighty Meaty. He led his new team to one championship (3rd conference) and two 4th place finishes. Swift had the 2nd best win-loss record for the entire season, next only to San Miguel which won one championship (2nd conference) and had a runner-up finish and a 3rd place finish.
